This month we are so excited to start working with the team at the Justice Support Centre. To further support their work, Peeplcoach has donated $21,000.
Justice Support Centre is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free legal services to the community. The centre assists people in southwest Sydney with legal matters, and also supports women and children affected by domestic and family violence in South Western Sydney, City of Sydney, Inner West and Waverley.
Why do we make our programs even more accessible to NFPs?
- NFPs do important work and on much tighter budgets than the private or government sectors. So any investments they make must be cost-effective.
- NFPs often feel ‘guilty’ about spending money on activities that do not directly benefit the cause. So, again, anything they spend on non-core activities must represent value for money.
- NFPs generally support members of our community who are having trouble supporting themselves. Often those working in the NFP sector will be assisting individuals who are experiencing one of the worst times in their lives. This can be very emotionally draining for NFP workers. They not only deserve but need extra support to become better leaders and to learn to set boundaries, prioritise, delegate, protect their mental health and avoid burnout. In fact, one could argue that, given the work NFPs do, their employees need even stronger leadership skills and capacity than those in private industry, and yet they tend to receive much less in terms of training and development.
- The average salary within the NFP sector is significantly lower than in other industries. This means that if workers in this industry are not developed and trained within their organisation, they are less likely to be able to allocate personal resources to development.
At Peeplcoach we believe that for society to thrive as a whole we need to lift all individuals and employees, not only those in private enterprise. This is why we are committed to ensuring that our programs are accessible to NFPs in particular.
